Introducing our Board of Directors, a group of passionate individuals committed to supporting our mission and ensuring the growth of our programs. With diverse backgrounds and expertise, they provide valuable guidance and leadership, helping us continue to inspire creativity and bring the arts to our community.
Cristie Baron
President
Cristie is a working artist and creative influencer in Northern California. She believes there is value in the process of art and enjoys sharing the world of arts with all ages. She is passionate and determined to make art accessible to all individuals regardless of their age, status, & ability.
Jason Marcus
Secretary
Jason is an attorney with the law firm of Marcus & Pulley in Sacramento, focused exclusively on representing injured workers. In addition to his law practice, he serves on a variety of non-profit boards and is active at his church, Covenant Community Church, where he regularly plays in the church’s band.
Rebecca Duvall
Treasurer
Rebecca Duvall is the Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper at Covenant Community Church in Vacaville. She's also a Ruling Elder at CCC and regularly attends their quarterly Presbytery and annual General Assembly. She's on the Presbytery Women's Link Committee, which plans and organizes the quarterly women's Presbytery Gathering. Rebecca is married and has 3 adult children.
Ryan Bates
Board Member
Ryan is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography with a double major in Advertising/ Illustration & Digital Imaging. He started his career in corporate product photography. Looking for something more fulfilling, he opened a high-end portrait studio which ran downtown for 10 years, He has since moved the business to their home office, where he continues his 30+ years in the profession. He is passionate about creating unique and special images for every client.
Renee Converse
Board Member
Renee has been involved in the arts academically and professionally for over 15 years. She has a B.A in Studio Arts from Sac State and a Master’s of Education from National University. She worked many years with studios in Sacramento, Davis, and Vacaville. She currently teaches visual arts at Pioneer High School in Woodland, specializing in Ceramics, Art and Culture. Renee brings years of art expertise, a passion for teaching, event management, and a genuine love of people to Joyful Arts Center.
